Sept. 2– Nova Coffee

February 18, 2019 6:00 am

Two members on a bright day took a circuitous 7-mile route via Tillicum Crossing to reach Nova, which is less than 3 miles from their starting point as the birds fly.

They appreciated the attractive design and layout of the shop, as well as a great sound system that on this day was playing killer Beatles.  However, tea pricing and practice was a bit of a turn-off with tea costing essentially $4.00 a cup as it was not being served in a refillable pot.

The Beatles music generated a discussion trip down memory lane leading to a  recommendation to attend the X-Mas White Album performance at Alberta Rose,  and admiration for the still talented, energetic, and politically involved 75-year old Blondie singer Debbie Harry, whose lyrics often contain progressive political messages.  These activist bicyclists also debriefed on the latest happenings with the soon-to-be-voted-on Clean Energy Fund, and the impressive progress of Cully’s non-profits.
