Though relatively quiet this dry, overcast 60 degree morning, it was evident that the Blend Team had succeeded in making this shop a vital part of the community.  From its bicycle corral to its signs, everything – including classy doors & windows, ordering counter placement & functionality, and  impressive wall art – communicates that the owners care about Blend’s customers’ comforts.

Today’s twosome compared notes on upcoming backpacking trips – (H to Glacier, M to Twin Lakes;)  recent vacations in Manzanita and Arch Cape – (H with a revolving door of family, M mostly on his own visiting interesting neighbors and their world traveling friends;)  their views on elders who stay busy and vibrant vs. those who don’t; and their  strategies for using frequent flier miles.
