Good Coffee, although being relatively small in floor space, has an awe inspiring amount of variety in its newly built site. Very stylish, the shop has lots of seating options, including a table that feels quite secluded; the walls have a craftsmanlike wood stucture that shows off an array of attractive items, in addition to coffee cups and supplies; and there’s lots of glass to make the shop feel airy and bright. We sat on the couches, though, and had to lean far forward in order to have a good discussion.
But a good discussion we did have, talking about two local theater productions we liked, that were in the similar genre: The NW Classical Theater’s Goodnight Desdemona in which which a fictional struggling academic plays out in her mind how characters from Romeo and Juliet, and King Lear, would respond similarly to certain events; and Post 5’s raucous, sometimes over-the-top, production of 12th Night. Staying in the arts, we then covered the “everybody reads book,” The Residue Years, which we thought was a bold choice given the in-your-face language and senstive topic of addiction. 4747 SE Division http://www.goodcoffeepdx.com
